Geography
Geography at Gracefield School involves the study of people and places and the interaction between them. Our children study the themes of weather, water, rivers and settlements and examine environmental issues. Whilst investigating places or a theme, children develop their geography skills and learn methods of geographical enquiry.
Geographical work begins by studying the school locality and then extends to examine contrasting localities in the UK and less economically developed countries.
As with all subjects taught at Gracefield, our geography lessons are presented in an interesting and exciting way. Classes often take their learning into other fun and diverse areas, such as class assemblies where the children perform and
present the facts that they
have learnt to their peers,
contemporaries and parents.
Environmental Education
Environmental Education is a cross-curricular theme and pupils learn about their environment through many subjects, such as science, geography and English. Within the geography curriculum pupils develop knowledge and understanding of environmental change and sustainable development.
